There would need to be different textures for the different possible configurations. Second, what about armor? Regular armor would be fine, it could just be on top of a taller head- but what about texture pack or modded armor that covers the whole head? You mentioned that it'd be a wider version like for piglins, but how would that work for texture packs and mods? I fit all of these on the same 64圆4 sheet, Mojang could either make a bigger sheet or just restrict players from using a skin that doesn't use the 64圆4 sheet. The last one's helmet would probably need to be very long to accommodate for the head's size, which I admit could probably have an effect on PvP, such as if you were chasing them.įirst, unless you're making stuff smaller, shorter, or narrower, then it probably won't fit on the 64圆4 texture sheet that the player model uses. I wanted to show more varied examples with the last two which is why they are more different and more extreme. wider heads would have slightly wider helmets (Piglins already do this). The armor would need to be changed a bit depending on the model, e.g. Mojang could restrict the overall size in addition/subtraction to a total number of pixels/voxels so that players would only really want to extend parts in a certain direction so as not to waste them, and to prevent players from effectively exploiting it.Īrmor is the same on Alex as it is on Steve, so a player wearing armor would feel pretty much the same as Steve/Alex during combat if it was kept relatively the same. But ones like the last one (and potentially ones that make certain bones very large or small) could be a problem. I tried to keep that in mind, which is why the custom models are relatively the same size as the default.
